The bout is only scheduled for eight rounds, which should play into the hands of the harder hitting Sierra, because he won’t have to worry about pacing himself.

Groves, 24, said to Sky Sports News “It’s great that they [Golden Boy Promotions] have put the time and effort into me and invested in me and given me fights in the States an given me the chance to build up a fan base over here…I can show everybody what I am all about and what the future holds.”

I think Groves is kidding himself here. Speaking from an American standpoint, Groves doesn’t have the exciting style that us Americans like to see from our fighters. Groves is kind of like a bigger version of Paulie Malingaggi with all the feints and the running around the ring all night. It’s not interesting for me to watch Groves fight. You just want to shake him and tell to start fighting instead of him using all the feints. It’s not interesting to watch.

Sure, Groves does have a chance to impress Americans on Saturday night against the hard hitting Sierra. Do I see that happening? Nope. The fighter that will shine in this fight almost definitely be Sierra, because he comes to fight and has got a whole bunch of power in either hand. He’s the classic ideal fighter for HBO and Showtime, because he makes it interesting win or lose each time he fights. But Groves is more of the opposite. He runs around the ring trying to fake a guy out of position and fighting in the old hit and run style that many boxing fans have grown to hate.
