Wladimir doesn’t like the fight, and feels because it’s not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control that it shouldn’t go ahead.

Wladimir told Talksport.co.uk “It is something that is actually disgraceful for the sport of boxing…It is not right to sanction this fight…I am totally against it…Chisora hasn’t accomplished anything. He has lost his last three fights in a row…The promoters are trying to sell the fight as the greatest ever and both guys lose their last fights.”

Does Wladimir seem a little jealous to you? He sure seems that way to me. I think it may bother him that this big fight between Haye and Chisora is taking place, and absolutely no one cares about Wladimir’s upcoming July 7th rematch against Tony Thompson in Berne, Switzerland. The Chisora-Haye fight has effectively sucked all the wind out of the tiny amount of interest there were for fans in seeing Wladimir against yet another mismatched opponent. I personally doesn’t see what the issue is for Wladimir. If Chisora and Haye want to beat each other’s brains out on July 14th at Upton Park, I sure do want to see this fight. I think it’ll be a great fight.

Wladimir seems to be pointing most of his anger at Chisora, and I can kind of understand why. After all, Chisora did spit water in Wladimir’s face in the ring on the night of Chisora’s bout against Vitali Klitschko, and Wladimir didn’t do a thing to retaliate. It just looked like Wladimir didn’t have a clue what to do. I guess it must have been humiliating as heck for him, but that’s the more reason why he should have at least responded with something, even angry words instead of just standing there and taking it. If he had something about it I imagine he’d feel a lot better today.

I think the Haye vs. Chisora fight is a great idea and I think Frank Warren really came up with a gem by putting this fight together. The BBBofC obviously isn’t happy about it, but Warren had little choice but to go to the Luxembourg Boxing Federation to sanction the fight. Had he waited for the British Boxing Board of Control to finally give Chisora back his boxing license, the public interest in the Haye-Chisora fight would be gone because too much time would have gone by. Warren had to make the fight and make it now.
