Image: Roach talking about Pacquiao dumping ArizaBy Chris Williams: On Pacquiao/Bradley 24/7 episode 2 earlier tonight, trainer Freddie Roach remarked that he’s not pleased with Pacquiao’s strength trainer leaving camp for two weeks while Pacquiao was training in the Philippines. Ariza received permission from Pacquiao to leave early to come to the U.S to assist WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. with his training camp.

Although Ariza was given permission by Pacquiao to leave the camp it doesn’t sit sit right with Roach, who sees it as an unprofessional move by Ariza.

Roach said “I think he’s bulls****** a little bit and I don’t appreciate that. And I’m going to see with Manny if we can get rid of him and get a new strength coach.”

By all means if things aren’t working on Roach and Pacquiao need to dump Ariza and look for a new body. However, I wouldn’t stop there if I was Pacquiao. I’d dump Roach at the same time and look to get another trainer that I wouldn’t have to pay as much as I do Roach, and who teach me some new things. I think Pacquiao has learned as much as he can from Roach and it’s time to give him the boot along with Ariza.

While Pacquiao is at it he might want to clear out that entourage that hangs around him and clean house completely. Tim Bradley has noticed all the guys that hang around Pacquiao and he had this to say about it tonight: “I don’t need a bunch of guys that are there for no reason. They have no official job or title. They’re there for company I guess. My company is my family. That’s all I need.”

Here here, I completely agree with Bradley. Pacquiao needs to come into camp with a big broom on Monday morning and sweep out Roach, Ariza and the entire entourage so he can start fresh with a new trainer and strength trainer. Forget about the entourage, it’s not needed. And Pacquiao can towel off on his own after his work outs. He doesn’t need someone to do that for him.
