Froch finished off a badly hurt Bute in the 5th after having Bute hurt in both the 3rd and the 4th rounds.

Froch controlled both the 1st and the 2nd rounds with a high punch output, landing some crisp right hands and backing Bute up. Although Bute landed some nice shots of his own to the head and body, Froch wasn’t bothered at all. Indeed, he seemed amused when Bute an occasional big shot.

In the 3rd round, Froch backed Bute up and hit him with a big right hand. He followed with a powerful combination that had Bute badly hurt on the ropes. Froch continued to pour in big shots while Bute, badly hurt, looked to clinch. When the two fighters were separated, Froch continued to tag Bute with uppercuts, left hooks and right hands to the head. Near the end of the round, Froch nailed Bute with a big uppercut followed by a combination that drove Bute into the ropes. It looked as if the ropes were holding him. Froch continued to blast away at Bute until the round ended.

Froch came immediately after Bute in the 4th, nailing him with jabs. Froch darted forward and landed a huge right hand. Bute fired back a nice left to the head that would have dropped most fighters but not Froch. Moments later, Froch landed another big right hand that snapped Bute’s head back, badly hurting him. Froch poured it on until the round ended. Bute looked completely out on his feet.

In the 5th round, Froch came and flurried on a badly hurt Bute until the referee stepped in and halted the fight.
