This was supposed to have been the last fight of the 40-year-old Harrison’s career, win or lose, but it looks like he’s had a change of heart about that despite the Adams fight still not having taken place yet. Harrison wants to continue his career and go after some of the top prospects and contenders in the sport.

Harrison said this: “I’m throwing my name into the hat with David Price, Tyson Fury, Jonathan Banks or Seth Mitchell.”

It is nice that Harrison is wise enough to recognize that he’s not going to get a title fight against any of the heavyweight champions. But by looking for a fight against the likes of Fury and Mitchell, Harrison obviously realizes that a victory over one of them would likely get him ranked in the top 15, and maybe just maybe one of the champions might then look his way for a fight. The chances of that happening are about slim and none.

Although Harrison will probably defeat Adams without any problems on May 26th, but he won’t get any takers among the fighters that he’s listed above. Banks, Mitchell, Price and Fury wouldn’t get anything from fighting Harrison, because he’s been exposed too many times by other fighters. It’s not really appealing to be yet another fighter that defeats Harrison.

In Harrison’s last fight, he was beaten by WBA heavyweight champion by a 3rd round TKO in November 2010. Harrison hardly threw anything before he was blasted out by Haye in the 3rd. It was one of the most boring heavyweight title fights within memory, and Harrison’s stock, such as it was, went way down after that fight as did Haye’s.
