Groves officially called off the fight due to a back injury he suffered whilst sparring.

When the claims of a death threat emerged, the Groves camp moved quickly to deny this is why they cancelled the fight. It is horrible to think that in this day and age a professional fighter can be made to feel unsafe having his life threatened by thugs and gangsters. It is downright cowardly of these people. Groves has now also left his home after Police moved to warn Groves about the threats officially.

Hopefully Groves who is still in the early, learning process of his career can move on from this and fight for a world title, with rumors circulating that he could fight for the WBO super middleweight title against fading champion Robert Stieglitz who has made 5 title defences. I think Groves is ready for him at this point in his career and would most likely win but he is not ready for the other world level fighters just yet. But if he can do his learning at the top of the game being a world champion then this could make him a very good fighter for the future and in a perfect place to one day unify the division .
