Image: Chisora vs. Klitschko this Saturday in MunichBy Scott Gilfoid: If you’re into seeing mismatches then tune in this Saturday to watch WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-0, 40 KO’s) destroy a mouthy Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KO’s) in a fight that will be taking place at the Olympiahalle, in Munich, Bayern, Germany.

Chisora figures this to be the hardest fight of Vitali’s career and sees himself wearing down the 40-year-old Vitali with a relentless attack. It sounds kind of unbelievable because Chisora is more of a three round fighter at best in terms of working hard.

After three rounds, Chisora throws around 30-40 punches a round, hardly enough to wear down the 6’7” Vitali. I could understand Chisora wearing down Vitali if he threw 80 to 100 punches per round, but Chisora looks to have his foot to the floor at a meager 40. But he sure does like he can throw those many, but it’s too bad it’s all lip with no substance.

Chisora told Sky Sports News “Maybe this will the toughest fight of his [Vitali] career…It’s about time someone young and fresh came in who is not scared.”

Vitali isn’t even bothering bantering back and forth with Chisora. Instead, he’s building the guy up, saying “He’s currently the strongest challenger out there.”

What does that tell you when Vitali is building up his opponent? It tells me that this is a hopeless mismatch and Vitali is trying to convince the boxing public that Chisora has a chance so that they’ll want to see the fight. Any time a champion like Vitali starts spending a great deal of time hyping his opponent it’s a strong signal that he’s set up another mismatch against an overmatched no-hoper.

Let’s be real here: Chisora ISN’T the best challenger out there. Heck, Tyson Fury completely schooled Chisora last year. I don’t care if Chisora was a few pounds overweight for that fight. If he had any real talent he would have beaten Fury even overweight. If Chisora can’t even beat a guy like Fury, then that suggests that Chisora isn’t even close to being the best challenger out there and is going to get smacked around on Saturday night in beating that will probably be very similar to the beating Vitali put on Brit Danny Williams in December 2004.
