Yes, Chisora’s an all talk Brit but where are the other ‘Talented’ prospects?

Image: Yes, Chisora's an all talk Brit but where are the other 'Talented' prospects?By James Hardiman (Chaos J): I’ve just been amused by a recent article written by none other then everybody’s favourite writer ‘Mr Talented’ and I just wondered to myself how this fictional and biased propaganda is allowed to be inflicted onto the many genuine boxing fans who come here looking for an interesting, unbiased and fact based read.

The article in question refers to the upcoming Heavyweight title fight between Vitali Klitschko & Dereck Chisora on the 18th of next month in Munich, Germany. Now for the record, I am British and I dislike Chisora Immensely. I don’t like Heavyweight boxers who like to knock their girlfriend’s about and I think/hope Vitali Klitschko will win this by way of knockout. I would also like to mention that in no way intended is this article hating on American boxing. 95% of American boxing fans and writers genuinely love the sport and know exactly what they are talking about, as do the vast majority of UK & European fans/writers. There are a few idiotic, biased and generally uneducated fans and writers here in Britain, America and across Europe aswell, I am just refering to this particular Crayon-Level milksop and he’s band of merrymen.

What I would like to point out is, while this writer picks on Chisora, implying that he’s just another British fighter about to get knocked out by Vitali, where are the masses of current American Heavyweight prospects? Why isn’t Deontay Wilder jumping in the ring with the Ironfist? He’s unbeaten, all wins coming by early knockout and has had more fights then Dereck, surely he is the perfect candidate to take Vitali’s crown isn’t he? Much more deserving of a title shot then Dereck surely? Anyway, No signs of him stepping up anytime soon.

The writer in question, and many others critisize David Haye’s disgrace of a showing against Vitali’s younger brother Wladamir in July of last year and rightly so, he was an utter embarrassment to British boxing. Not only because of his trash talk or his silly sore toe but the way he ran around the ring for 12 rounds. However, while the writer sticks it to Haye and pours scorn on Chisora’s chances of victory, howcomes he fails to mention the laughable effort from American Kevin Johnson against Vitali in which Johnson ducked, dived, blocked and ran for the entire fight and even had the nerve to taunt Vitali in the last round. Did the writer give him as much abuse as he’d sprayed onto David Haye? Infact, forget the American talent, where are all the ‘top’ European Heavyweights? Why is Povetkin never ready? Helenius, Dimitrenko, Boystov, Pulev etc etc. All these guys are hyped up and ranked in the top 10/15 but fail to show an ounce of interest whenever the name Klitschko is mentioned.
I think its quite amusing that the only two fighters putting their name forward to fight Vitali are Chisora and Haye. Wether they think they have a real shot at winning or it’s just for a nice payday (probably the latter), atleast they have the stones to jump in and get slaughtered for anything up to 12 rounds.

My favourite comment posted on the terribly written drivel that ‘Mr Talented’ treated us to was, and I quote: ”Del boy shouldent be getting this chance no British heavyweight should be at the min. Jds already lost twice in a row. So blame the klits for another easy fight gilford. No one is ready yet for at least another year then price and fury would have a good shot” (copy and pasted to show you the kind of spelling attributes this guy has in his locker).

Blame the Klitschko’s for this? Why should they take the blame? They have to fight to stay in shape and to keep their titles so if no one else is willing to fight them, what are they expected to do? Sit around eating McDonald’s and watching Antiques Roadshow waiting for Povetkin to grow a pair and step up to the plate? And why shouldn’t a British Heavyweight be getting a chance? What Heavyweight’s from other countries, willing to fight, are more deserving of a title shot then Chisora, Fury or Haye?

Like I said, I dislike Chisora and I loathe David Haye with every bone in my body, I would love to see nothing more then both being crushed under the might of the Ironfist but they are no better or no worse then anything else floating around from anywhere in the world at the moment. There may be more skilled fighters sure but whats skill if your too chicken shit to use it.
