Wladimir is going to have to get Mormeck out as early as possible

Jean-Marc Mormeck Wladimir Klitschko Klitschko vs. Mormeck Klitschko-MormeckBy Dan Ambrose: IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49n KO’s) can’t afford to leave challenger Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KO’s) in there with him in their fight on March 3rd at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The reason Wladimir has to get Mormeck out of there as soon as possible because Mormeck has changed his style of fighting to where he moves constantly in wide circles to avoid the shots from his bigger opponents, and he makes his opponents use up their energy chasing him.

He then stops and launches attacks where he lands some big shots before getting back on the move. In a way he’s like a combination of David Haye and Juan Carlos Gomez. He’s a lot harder to fight now compared to when he fought at cruiserweight.

Back then, Mormeck was utterly predictable with the way he would come forward with a Mike Tyson like style of fighting using a lot of head movement and fast, powerful combinations. However, since moving up to heavyweight, Mormeck has changed his style out of necessity.

He doesn’t have the size to stand in front of his opponents all fight long, and instead he moves around and makes quick attacks where he unloads with some respectable looking power shots.

I think his power would be much better if he were a little bigger. Mormeck only ways 215lbs and is little more than 5’10”. He’s hard to hit once he gets inside due to his head movement.

But on the outside he’s vulnerable to a jab because of his limited height and reach. In his fight against Vinny Maddalone, Mormeck was there to be hit all night long by Maddalone’s jabs. However, Maddalone wasn’t wise enough to use it on a consistent enough basis to win the fight.

Mormeck moved all around the ring and forced Maddalone to chase him. Wladimir is going to find out that fighting Mormeck is a tiring thing due to all the chasing he’s going to have to do.

Wladimir can make things easy for himself if he works Mormeck over from the outside and really go after him in a major way to get him out of there as fast possible. Wladimir can’t allow Mormeck to stick around because he’ll tire Wladimir and knock him out.
