Speaking with examiner.com, Martinez said “Yeah, I saw it. I thought the same way that everyone worldwide thinks, that Marquez won the fight. Bob Arum [Pacquiao’s promoter] will try to save by cashing in more on Pacquiao and it’s shameful.”

There it is, folks. Almost the entire world sees Marquez as the winner of the third fight with Pacquiao. It must really feel bad for Pacquiao and the small group of people who feels he won. What he what isn’t acknowledged by the rest of the world and it’s made a joke out of the victory. It’s kind of like being given a gift that you initially think is valuable but later find discover is really just a poor knockoff gift without value. Pacquiao was given a 12 round majority decision by the judges in Las Vegas, but the victory has proven to be a hallow one because it’s not accepted by the larger boxing public, who unanimously saw Marquez as winning the fight.

More problematic than the fight itself, though, is Pacquiao’s loss of foot movement. He’s no longer able to move around the ring like he used to. This made Marquez’s job much easier this time around compared to in the last two fights. Marquez was able to control the fight against the plodding Pacquiao. If Marquez was able to do this imagine what Floyd Mayweather Jr. would do to Pacquiao, not that he’s going to be given a chance by Arum. You can forget that. Mayweather is too good and would take the judges out of the equation by beating Pacquiao so badly that there would be no chance of him winning a controversial – gift – decision.
