Adamek has been fighting most of his fights lately in New Jersey in the United States. However, his mismatch against Vitali took place in Poland and a massive amount of Poles showed up to see Adamek fight. It could be that Adamek wants to take advantage of his popularity in Poland by fighting someone over there to get his confidence back.

There’s no word as to who that fighter will be, but it will likely be someone that fits into Adamek’s past opponent profile at heavyweight, meaning an older journeyman-like heavyweight or perhaps an old heavyweight champion in his 40s. Since moving up to heavyweight, Adamek has faced Michael Grant, Andrew Golota, Vinny Maddalone, Kevin McBride, Jason Estrada, Chris Arreola and Vitali.

After Adamek faces a likely marginal heavyweight in the first part of 2012, his next fight could wind up on HBO if he’s willing to take on actual contender. HBO reportedly would like to air a fight between Adamek and David Haye or Arreola. The Haye fight is more of a pipe dream by HBO, because Haye seems to be only interested in fighting for a title against one of the Klitschkos, and probably wouldn’t want to face one of the Klitschko brother’s victims like Adamek.

Arreola could be Wladimir Klitschko’s first fight in 2012 after he takes care of Jean Marc Mormeck in December 2011. Would Arreola be interested in facing Adamek after a likely knockout loss to Wladimir? It would be interesting to see that happen, but not likely. Arreola probably would want the fight, but his management might balk at the idea if Arreola is beaten too badly by Wladimir.
