By John F. McKenna (McJack): WBO welterweight champion and Sarangani Congressman Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s) has been guaranteed $20 million in his much awaited rubber match with his Mexican nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 38 KO’s).

The two will be squaring off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 12 after the completion of a world tour to hype the fight.

The dollar amount of the guarantee was reported today in the Manila Bulletin and is the exact amount Pacquiao was guaranteed for his fight with Shane Mosley in May. The pound for pound king should however, make considerably more money for the Marquez fight because the Pay Per View (PPV) sells are expected to be larger than they were for the Mosley fight.

The Pacquiao – Mosley fight drew more than 1.3 million PPV buys. Boxing insiders feel that because of the bad blood between Pacquiao and Marquez, the buys for this fight will easily eclipse that amount.

Marquez will be guaranteed $5 million, the same amount Mosley was paid by Top Rank for his fight with Pacquiao. Of course Marquez will also receive a portion of the PPV receipts.

Top Rank chief Bob Arum believes that the November matchup will go down as the biggest Pacquiao fight ever in terms of financial gain and global impact.

Arum will kick off the promotional tour with a press conference in Manila on September 3, with Marquez in attendance. From Manila the tour will go to New York, Los Angeles and then onwards to Mexico City.

Meanwhile the list of fighters anxious to fight Manny Pacquiao is ever increasing.

Everybody wants a piece of Manny Pacquiao. The money any fighter would make fighting “Pacman” is huge. Those who have expressed a desire to fight Manny includes but is not limited to : Brandon Rios, Timothy Bradley, Andre Berto, Kermit Cintron and Sergio Martinez.

It is doubtful that a matchup between Pacquiao and Martinez will happen due to the huge size difference between the two.

Of course Floyd Mayweather is forever out there claiming that he wants to fight Manny Pacquiao. It is also doubtful if that fight will ever happen because of Floyd’s legal problems and the defamation law suit Manny brought against him.
