Khan: Judah knows what’s coming and he doesn’t like it

By Sean Mcdaniel: Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KO’s) equates IBF light welterweight champion Zab Judah’s trash talking as a sign that he doesn’t think he can beat Khan. It’s kind of like the way that World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye talked endless trash about IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko before their recent fight but when it came to back up his talk, Haye was off to the races and more concerned with getting out of the fight in one piece than in trying to win it.

However, some fighters actually can back up their talk and it doesn’t always mean that the fighter that talks the most trash is going to lose. Just look at Floyd Mayweather Jr. He tends to talk more than his opponents, yet he’s able to back it up. Judah may be able to as well. We’ll have to see this Saturday night when Judah and Khan battle at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“A lot of fighters start talking when they know they can’t win. Judah will be making a lot of noises but it will all go over my head. My job is to beat him. Judah knows what’s coming and doesn’t like it.”

This fight is hard to pick a winner in. Judah has the better overall skills, and has fought much better opposition than Khan. For his part, Khan is the younger, stronger and bigger fighter. However, Khan makes a lot of mistakes in the ring and sometimes fights like he’s not thinking. For example, when he was hurt badly in the Marcos Maidana fight, Khan continued to punch with Maidana and kept getting rocked with big shots. Khan tried to smile, as if he wasn’t bothered but he kept getting tagged with huge shots. It’s hard to see Judah fighting like that. He’s a clever fighter with a ton of experience. The experience could be the deciding factor in this fight.
