Image: Mayweather: I'll only fight "all natural fighters"By Chris Williams: Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. said in an interview at fighthype.com that he only fights “100% all pure and all natural fighters”. Mayweather will have random blood testing done for his next bout against Victor Ortiz on September 17th. Ortiz is on board for the testing and won’t fight Mayweather over the testing. Mayweather seems leery of facing Manny Pacquiao without the random blood testing, even though Pacquiao has never tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in the past.

Mayweather commented on Pacquiao, saying he felt sorry for the boxing fans that have been waiting to see that fight happen for the past couple of years. Mayweather then went on to say that opponents have to be “all natural” for him to fight them. Mayweather came close to fighting Pacquiao last year but the two couldn’t agree on the random blood testing for performance enhancing drugs that Mayweather wanted for the fight. Mayweather wanted at least a two week window of no testing before the fight, whereas Pacquiao was looking for a little over three weeks.

It’s unclear what Mayweather wants now in order to fight Pacquiao. He may want random blood testing to be done all the way up to the day of the fight this time around. It’s unknown whether Pacquiao would ever agree to that kind of testing. That’s possibly where the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight falls apart and may never be made. If Mayweather is wanting the textbook version of random blood testing, where it is truly random and can happen at any time, and Pacquiao is looking for a cut off two weeks before the fight, then the fight likely won’t ever be made.
