Haye-Klitschko: Will Booth throw in the white towel of surrender when Haye starts taking punishment?

Image: Haye-Klitschko: Will Booth throw in the white towel of surrender when Haye starts taking punishment?By Scott Gilfoid: The bad thing about having a close relationship with your trainer is that they have a tendency of pulling you out of fights when you start to take shots. Now if we go back into the past when David Haye fought 30-year-old Carl Thompson in 2004, Haye fought well for about three rounds but was then knocked on his backside in the 4th by a hard right hand from Thompson.

In the 5th round, as soon as Haye started taking a few shots from Thompson a towel was thrown in my Booth to get the referee to stop the fight and save Haye from punished. I thought Haye could have at least finished the round because he had just hurt Thompson not too long before the towel sailed into the ring. The importance of this is that Haye won’t be facing one of his typical scrub opponents on July 2nd.

He’s dealing with the best heavyweight in the division in IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, meaning that Haye is going to get hit an awful lot and it might be a little hard for Booth to take seeing Haye’s face get battered and rearranged by the hard shots from Wladimir. So well Booth get squeamish at the sight of Haye getting beaten up and pull the trigger on the fight to get it stopped or will Booth let Haye at least have a chance to maybe get lucky with a big shot?

I hope Booth lets Haye go out on his shield, since Haye has made it clear that he doesn’t intend on facing WBC Vitali Klitschko if he beats Wladimir unless Vitali fights Haye before he turns 31 in October. Vitali has a fight in September against Tomaz Adamek, so there won’t be a Haye vs. Vitali fight. This is Haye’s last fight. Booth needs to let Haye have a fighting chance until he’s finally a spent force and is lying on his back counting stars. I hope Booth doesn’t take away Haye’s moment of glory by sailing the white towel of surrender in the ring.
