Williams has lost three out of his last six fights and not beaten a quality fighter since 2009 when he defeated John McDermott by a controversial 12 round split decision.

Williams has a beatable opponent in front of him in the form of the heavyset 26-year-old Charr, who hardly looks like a world beater in his fights in Germany. However, Williams will still have his work cut out for him because Charr likes to trade and puts pressure on his opponents from the 1st round until the last. If Williams isn’t ready to fight it out in the trenches against the very limited Charr, we could see Williams get taken out quickly.

Charr struggled to beat journeyman Zack Page in a controversial eight round majority decision last year in December. I saw the fight and had Page winning comfortably. However, Charr will be hard to beat fighting in his adopted country of Germany and unless Williams really brings it and scores at least a knockdown, we could see Charr winning by a decision, if he doesn’t stop Williams. Charr’s best wins have come against journeyman Owen Back, Sherman Williams and Robert Hawkins. He’s being brought up very slowly, but it’s doubtful that Charr will get much better than he is right now.

A prime Williams easily beats Charr, but at this point it’s hard to tell what Williams has left. In the power department, Williams easily wins this fight but if his stamina isn’t there or if he’s not mentally prepared to fight a war with Charr, then Williams will surely lose tonight.
