3 more weeks until Haye meets his end against Wladimir

By Scott Gilfoid: It’s hard to believe that WBA heavyweight champion David Haye essentially has only three more weeks to hold onto his World Boxing Association strap. Haye’s brief moment in the sun as the WBA paper champion is about to come to and end and he’s going to have to make a big decision about whether he wants to take his humiliating defeat and go back to whence he came or to man up and continue his career. His opponent IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is so much better than Haye it’s not even funny.

In three weeks, Haye is going to be facing the equivalent of a higher level fighter. Think of it as Haye being lower level robot facing a robot that’s two generations improved with Wladimir. Of course the new and improved robot is going to wipe the deck with the inferior one. This is going to be embarrassing what Wladimir does to Haye. It’s going to be bad for Haye. We already know what Haye’s game is going to be on July 2nd. Haye has exposed his battle plans by losing a lot of weight and looking thin.

My guess is Haye already is down to around 210. By fight time, Haye may be as low as 205. What we have here is Haye planning on getting as thin as possible so that he can run, run and run all night long around the ring and try and get in close to throw fast combinations. Haye is betting that by being skinny, he can beat Wladimir with speed alone. It’s an insane plan because a little 205 pound boxer/slugger has no chance against a big 247 pound Wladimir. He’s going to pummel Haye and knock him around the ring with each shot he hits him with. Haye doesn’t have a lot of options. He comes in fat, he gets beat. If he comes in skinny, he gets beaten as well. He loses no matter what he does.

If Haye keeps his word, he’ll immediately hang up his gloves and never fight again. There would be no point in him still fighting after the Wladimir beating because he won’t get a fight with Vitali and he will have to start from scratch against domestic fodder. Heck, I can see David Price, Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora beating him.
