Mosley must pressure Pacquiao to get the win on 5/7

By Allen Hmiel: If Shane Mosley has any chance to beat Manny Pacquiao in their upcoming May battle, Shane will have to meet Manny head on and beat him back. Pacquiao after being fed a steady diet of ready made to order opponents with limitations will have a tough time with Shane. IF. Mosley meets Manny and out-powers him and beats the little guy backwards. Shane Mosley has the power and skill to batter Pacquiao but will Shane be quick enough?

Power punching is good but if that power cannot land it is worthless. Shane has to land and land often and get mean. Stop the smiling and the grinning and just get mean against Manny. Manny hasn’t faced any punchers who could trade with him or hurt him as he has been protected with shrewd matchmaking aligned to protect Manny from dangerous fighters. The Mosley match-up could finally be what boxing fans have been waiting for, and that is for Manny to fight someone who can actually hurt the little guy. A real opponent.

Knowing when your opponent cannot hurt you has enable Manny to build a fake reputation as the world’s greatest fighter. Hand Picked, past over-matched opponents way past their primes with the inability to actually throw a power shot has given Manny a false sense of security. Mosley can end this delusion that Pacquiao is great by meeting him head on and smashing him hard in the mouth and head repeatedly until the smaller overwhelmed Manny is back-peddling.

Pacquiao will have a hard time beating Shane if he is moving backwards. Shane must overcome Pacquiao’s quickness by stepping inside taking some power shots and then deliver his own arsenal to Pacquiao’s mug. And Shane must repeatedly keep the assault up until the little overrated over-hyped under matched Pacquiao crumbles. Boxing regains it’s prestige if Manny is counted out.

Mosley, if he is personally tough enough can win this fight, if he is willing to take some shots to get inside and go toe to toe with the smaller Pacquiao.

Pacquiao comes right at his opponents and if Shane is man enough to meet the charging Manny face to face Shane can win this fight. No dancing or jiving just head to head action. Boxing fans have been waiting for years to actually see a Pacquiao opponent fight back and hurt the over-hyped champion. Mosley could be this opponent is he has it inside to meet adversity with a vengeance and a stronger will to win.

Can Shane do it? I think he can.
