Khan thinks Pacquiao will be the first fighter to stop Mosley

By Chris Williams: Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KO’s) will soon be turning 40-years-old and has been looking nothing short of old, shot and dreadful in his last two fights coming into his May 7th bout against Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KO’s) at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Amir Khan, a good friend of Pacquiao and a fighter that shares the same trainer Freddie Roach, has come up with a few things that have dawned on him that may have been overlooked by boxing experts and fans. First of all, Khan thinks Pacquiao has a good chance of knocking Mosley out. And secondly, Khan thinks Mosley may not be able to handle Pacquiao’s pressure. Gee, I wouldn’t have known that if Khan had clued me on it.

Khan, speakng with abs-cbn – news, said “That guy Mosley can punch. He’s got hand speed. I don’t know about his legs. When Manny puts pressure, I’m not sure if Mosley will know where to go. I honestly don’t know if Mosley can take Manny’s power. I think Manny could be the first fighter to knock out Mosley.”

I agree with all of that. But when you select a guy that’s on the verge of turning 40, I suppose knocking him out is a high possibility. Come on, what in the world is Pacquiao fighting a 40-year-old? He just finished fighting a guy that was as slow as molasses in Antonio Margarito, who done zero to deserve a fight with. Now Pacquiao is fighting a guy coming off of a questionable 12 round draw and a loss before that. Mosley hasn’t won a fight in over two years. Can you believe that? And yet he still is picked to fight Pacquiao and Khan is saying Pacquiao might knock Mosley out.

Yeah, I think he might. But when you pick a guy old enough to knock out, I guess you’re going to have better than average luck in scoring a knockout, don’t you think? Now I’d like to see what Khan’s opinion would be if Pacquiao were to fight Sergio Martinez. Of course won’t fight that guy, so there’s no point but he will fight a guy pushing 40.
