Mosley vs. Pacquiao: Look for Shane to knock Manny around the ring on 5/7

By Al Hmiel: Okay, Shane Mosley (46-6-1-) fought the best fighter in the world in his bout with Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather Jr., but Mosley lost a lopsided decision and embarrassed himself. It happens to the best of fighters. Muhammad Ali lost to Leon Spinks, Lennox Lewis lost to Oliver McCall, and Mike Tyson lost to James Buster Douglas. The superior quickness of Mayweather was shocking to Mosley and he couldn’t adapt to the lighting quick punches and he became a punching bag for 12 rounds. So be it, it happens.

Now, Mosley has the wonderful opportunity to redeem himself and his good name and it’s payback time for Manny Pacquiao to see how a quality fighter past his prime reacts and comes back to regain his reputation. Pacquiao is no Mayweather, not even close, and Shane realizes this and I expect Mosley to adjust and have a fight plan tailored specifically to beat the smaller Pacquiao.

This is career redemption time for Shane and the opportunity to regain his name and his pride and also to revitalize his stagnant career. Mosley is too talented and powerful to lose to the smaller Pacquiao and fight fans will see first hand in May the stunning results as Shane batters Manny all over the ring. Shane will be fighting not only Pacquiao, but Shane’s reputation and Shane’s pride and self esteem which has been slightly misplaced by the Cotto, Mayweather and Mora bouts. Look for a smarter more aggressive and powerful Shane Mosley to battle back and regain his self esteem and his reputation against Pacquiao.

Even if Shane doesn’t knock out the little Manny and possibly loses a close decision, he still wins. Shane will have regained his reputation as a warrior and a fighter who is still at 39 one of the most dangerous fighters ever to lace on a pair of gloves. There is too much pride at stake for Shane not to put on a spectacular performance and regain his image. Now it’s Mosley time and the countdown begins for Shane to once again be the feared fighter and champion he has always been. It will be boxing’s biggest moment of 2011 as Sugar Shane Mosley gets his retribution and revitalizes a stalled career all before he turns 40.
