Image: Wladimir says he doesn't believe Haye will be retiring at the end of the yearBy Scott Gilfoid: I just got a laugh after reading some of the comments made by Dan Rafael on his twitter. Rafael spoke to IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, who told Dan he doesn’t believe that WBA heavyweight champion David Haye will be retiring at the end of 2011 like Haye has been talking about. Wladimir thinks Haye is a liar and doesn’t trust him. This is why Wladimir wasn’t willing to wait around until July to fight Haye without taking a tune-up bout. Wladimir didn’t trust that Haye would actually make it to the fight. I don’t blame Wladimir.

Here’s what Rafael had to say on his twitter:

“One thing Wlad reminded me about was that Ducker [Haye] would not fight Vitali. Was not willing. Only would fight Wladimir. Wlad said he wanted interim fight with [Dereck] Chisora cause last time he gave up fight to face Ducker, he waited extra few months & Ducker pulled out. Wlad doesn’t trust Ducker wouldn’t pull out again & he wasn’t going to give up fight based on his worthless word. They didn’t even have deal papered. So Wlad will fight Chisora and then likely Adamek in fall, which is also a huge fight. Wlad doesn’t believe Ducker is retiring anyway. Wlad said Ducker is a ‘Liar, liar, liar’ and has no legacy ‘whatsoever.’

I totally agree with Wladimir. I don’t think Haye will retire at the end of the year, not for a second. I can just picture the emotional announcement he’ll be making when he goes back on his word and continues to fight, saying he wants to continue to chase after Wladimir. And Wladimir is right about Haye not wanting any part of Vitali. Heck, Haye won’t even mention Vitali’s name. If he had any interest in Vitali, he would be going after that fight right now with Wladimir unavailable with fights against Chisora and Adamek.
