Image: Shane Mosley too deteriorated to win against Manny PacquiaoBy Francisco Hernandez: It’s unbelievable how many deluded souls still believe that Shane has a chance against Manny Pacquiao; it’s like believing that snow balls have a chance in hell. Shane Mosley is just too deteriorated to fight anyone as fast as Pacquiao. Mosley and his fans are still living on Mosley’s last win against Antonio Margarito. They reason that Mosley was able to knockout Margarito and that Mosley took less punches against Margarito, overall a better performance than Pacquiao against the same fighter. What these people forget is that Pacquiao almost killed Antonio Margarito.

Margarito is still hurting today from the beating he took. Shane Mosley didn’t do that much physical damage to Margarito. The defenseless Margarito is there to get hit, but Manny Pacquiao hit him harder and was one step away from killing Margarito. Luckily for Margarito, the Filipino devil is a devout Catholic and had the charity not to kill him in the ring. Margarito vs. Mosley was a regular fight; Pacquiao vs. Margarito was a massacre.

What about Mosley’s defense, isn’t it better than Pacquiao’s, Mosley didn’t take that many punches from Margarito, while Margarito was able to hit Pacquiao more. Do not be deceived, the truth is Pacquiao allowed himself to get hit by Margarito, he wanted the fight to be more competitive so he let himself get hit, also this is a tactic Pacquiao uses to out psyche his opponents, they get discouraged when their hardest punches bounce off apparently harmlessly from Pacquiao. Pacquiao is very difficult to hit when he doesn’t want to get hit. If Pacquiao had wanted to, Margarito would never have touched him.

Mosley is just too deteriorated to deal with Pacquiao’s speed. Mosley will be a sitting duck while Pacquiao shotguns him to pieces. Mosley will not be able to pull the trigger; he will look like the petrified statue of Liberty getting hit by Filipino fist missiles. If Mosley and his fans really think they have a chance against Pacquiao they are deluded, Mosley will not even see the right hands that will hit him. Mosley is not fighting an ordinary fighter; Pacquiao is both fast and violent. Pacquiao belongs to that class of fighters such as Wilfredo Gomez and Azumah Nelson at their best. The only way you can beat Pacquiao is to take his rhythm away, which requires the timing and skills of a legend like Salvador Sanchez who was a master of imposing his rhythm. Juan Manuel Marquez got the best of Pacquiao precisely because he was able to match Pacquiao’s rhythm, he leveled the playing field. One of the reasons Floyd Mayweather is so dangerous for Pacquiao is that Mayweather like the eternal Salvador Sanchez, knows how to impose his rhythm in a fight. While Mosley just doesn’t have the reflexes needed to counter the fast rhythm that Pacquiao brings to his fights.

Most people with common sense can clearly visualize Pacquiao vs. Mosley as a great mismatch. Mosley standing in the middle of the ring, his feet glued to the floor, shaking his arms nervously, while the Filipino devil flashes in and out like a lightning bolt, Mosley’s blood sprinkling the canvas floor.
