Saul Alvarez vs. Mathew Hatton: They will have to scrape Hatton off the canvas

By Francisco Hernandez: Not too long ago an over confident Ricky Hatton had the audacity to face a humble man from the Philippines who turns into a Tasmanian devil in the ring: Manny Pacquiao. Hatton had never really known the experience of getting savagely beat, he had been stopped by Floyd Mayweather but it was a regular TKO loss, the type you normally see in fights, but Hatton was not prepared for what awaited him, a beating so brutal that it caused a hush in the audience, many thought Hatton had expired. Fortunately Hatton revived and he will live to tell his grandkids how he survived one of the worst beatings Pacquiao has given to a fighter.

Recklessness must run in the Hatton family because now Ricky’s brother Mathew Hatton has decided to fight Saul ‘’El Canelo” Alvarez. Mathew Hatton has just not fought anyone like Alvarez. El Canelo is no joke, he likes to hurt people, likes to beat on them. If Mathew Hatton wants to save himself from physical harm, he must fall as soon as he gets hit; otherwise if Hatton wants to be brave they are going to have to scrape him off the canvas like his brother Ricky against Pacquiao.

Rumors have it that El Canelo wants to make a big statement in this fight, because he is ready to go after fighters with names, and he is going to make sure that Hatton doesn’t get up from the canvas without help, they are going to have to carry Hatton out of the ring. Alvarez needed a victim to destroy and reckless Mathew Hatton raised his hand, he asked for it.

What will probably happen is that Hatton will realize his fatal decision and pull out of the fight alleging an injury and they will have to find another fighter to replace him, better for him because El Canelo is anxious to knock someone’s head off.
