By Dan Ambrose: Photo credit Tom Casino /Showtime: Former two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga is making WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto look really bad in their press conferences together with his trash talking and ability to literally talk circles around the socially uncomfortable looking Cotto.

In yesterdays’ press conference, Mayorga talked about Cotto having women’s hands among other things, while Cotto sat there stewing an turning different shades of colors. Mayorga is clearly at home on the stage which allows him to use his ability to talk and intimidate.

At Thursday’s press conference, Mayorga took things to a new level by shoving Cotto in the chest really hard, and saying “I respect your mother but I don’t want her to suffer anymore. I will finish you off and your mother will be in peace at last. This won’t take me long about four rounds on March 12th.

Cotto looks out of his element, like someone that’s giving a speech presentation for the first time. The thing is instead of getting better with subsequent speeches, Cotto remains the same, totally uncomfortable, press conference after press conference. Mayorga is almost like a professional actor/comedian the way he’s going about about ripping Cotto apart. He’s basically single-handedly promoting this fight all by his self.

After Cotto was shoved hard by Mayorga, Cotto looked afraid as Mayorga stood his ground waiting for Cotto to do something about it. It looked like Mayorga had really done a number on Cotto, and gotten him looking afraid. Mayorga may be up there in age at 37 compared to the 30-year-old Cotto, but he may win the battle before the first punch is even thrown on March 12th.
