Amir Khan must fight and defeat Breidis Prescott

By Ben James: Anyone with any level of boxing intelligence knows that Amir Khans shock defeat at the hands of journeyman Breidis Prescott was a fluke. Prescott is not a world class fighter and I am not even convinced he has half as much power as people give him credit for. Just look at his record. In his first 10 fights only 3 of his opponents had EVER won a boxing match.

He spent the first god knows how long knocking out totally unknown fighters, building up a record which sounded good but really isn’t up to much. Then came his big break, he wobbled Amir Khan who was drained at 137lb and currently fasting (Khan is a Muslim, he refused to stop fasting even when he had a big fight, this would have had an effect on his energy levels and durability), and then he knocked Khan out with a perfectly landed punch to Khans chin.

Breidis Prescott has since proven to the world he is nothing more than a lucky journeyman. I cannot see this guy causing any problems for Amir Khan and would encourage Khan to face his conqueror and destroy him, knock him out, make him look as mediocre as he is.

All great fighters defeat those who beat them. Lennox Lewis (the last great heavyweight champion) avenged all of his defeats, this goes to show even great fighters can be beaten, Lewis got knocked out by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman but nobody would ever say Lewis had a glass chin or was overrated. So why are the writers of today so nasty towards Khan?

So to conclude this short article… Amir Khan we know you can beat Breidis Prescott and a lot of British boxing fans would love to see a rematch here in the UK. If your going to have a tune up fight at least make it against somebody the casual fans know. Forget about fighting some crap European champion or some unknown American. Fight the guy who beat you!
