Prediction: Look for Abraham to brutally knockout Froch

Image: Prediction: Look for Abraham to brutally knockout FrochBy Scott Gilfoid: I’ve worked out the various scenarios for tonight’s Super Six tourney bout between former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) and Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) and I keep coming up with Abraham scoring a brutal knockout over Froch in front of a shocked Hartwall Arena crowd, in Helsinki, Finland.

I’ve been trying to weigh the different variables in this fight to see where Froch can somehow finish on his feet and perhaps win a close decision, but I just can’t see it happening. It’s like cause and effect scenario. If you drive your car into a bridge abutment at 100 mph, you’re going to get badly hurt.

In the same token, if you fight a huge knockout puncher like Abraham with your guard down by your knees like Froch generally does, you’re going to get badly hurt. In this case, I think Abraham is going to send Froch out of the ring on a stretcher in one of those highlight reel knockouts.

Abraham has too much power for Froch, and with the British fighter not only fighting with his guard down all night long but also trying to trade bombs, the end result won’t be a pretty one for Froch. It’s like going into Alaska and trying to pet a big hungry polar bear.

You’re going to be ripped to pieces. I don’t see Froch having made any changes whatsoever in his fighting style from his last fight, and I think he’ll stubbornly cruise out there and start winging shots with all his might. Abraham is going to be like a hungry jackal at seeing Froch’s primitive fighting style and will immediately start ripping into him with big power shots.

By the time that Froch realizes what a huge mistake he made, it will be too late, he’ll stunned already, taking huge shots while he cowers and cringes in a fetal position. Abraham will then finish Froch off with a beautiful right hand that will send him crashing to the floor without bracing himself. The fight will be immediately stopped while the medics look Froch over.
