Froch ready to fight dirty against Abraham if needed

Image: Froch ready to fight dirty against Abraham if neededBy Scott Gilfoid: It looks like Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) is ready to dig into his toolkit of tricks to get an edge against Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) if their Super Six tournament fight turns physical on Saturday night at the Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. I’m really hoping Froch keeps it clean, because he turned his fight against the talented Andre Dirrell into an MMA-like fight last year in October when Froch bodly slammed Dirrell and threw rabbit shots and held & hit for much of the 2nd half of the fight while the referee stood idly by watching.

Speaking to thesun.co.uk, Froch said “If he [Abraham] hits me in the b***s, I’ll hit him back in the b****s, because that’s what I do. Straight away, soon as they start that game, they get it back, and the referee can tell us both off then. I don’t have no messing around. I’ve got a few moves in the bag, a few little holds and locks and little twists and turns, so I’m not going to be bullied and pushed around.”

I really hope Froch doesn’t resort to fouling for all he’s worth like he did in the Dirrell fight, because I want to see good clean boxing and not some kind of abomination. All Dirrell did was a use a few defensive moves to make Froch miss over and over again in their fight and this was enough for Froch to go nuts and start with the fouling. Abraham obviously isn’t as talented on defense as Dirrell, but I can see Froch losing his cool and resorting to fouling if the fight isn’t going his way. I just hope the referee isn’t disengaged like the one that worked the Dirrell-Froch fight, because he needs to nip the fouling in the bud immediately once it rears ugly head. I’d be taking off points at the first foul and would pull the plug on Froch and/or Abraham if they turn this into a primitive caveman fight.
