This is one of those fights in which Chisora can really pick and choose how he wants to go at taking out the slow moving Klitschko. There’s two different ways that Wladimir has been beaten in the past by little known punchers like Chisora.

Earlier in his career, Wladimir was taken deep by Ross Puritty and stopped in the 11th round in 1998. Puritty basically used a high guard, blocking Wladimir’s head shots all fight long, but continuously walking forward towards him and landing occasional bombs to keep him nervous and not wanting to stop for a second. Eventually, Wladimir wore himself completely out and was taken out with a handful of shots form Puritty in the 11th.

In the his loss to Corrie Sanders in 2003, Sanders, a tall southpaw with quick hands and big power, decided to go right after Klitschko and test his chin early with straight lefts and right hands. It paid off for Sanders when he dropped Wladimir late in the 1st with several hard left hands to the head. After Wladimir got back to his feet, he was sent back down with some glancing blows. In the 2nd round, Sanders finished Wladimir off with a few shots while Wladimir cringed and covered up like a school boy taking a beating.

Wladimir has lost his bearing and composure completely, and was just bending over and covering his head as if he was being attacked by a swarm of bees. I’ve never seen anything like it before or since. This is one method that Chisora can try, but it will take a full speed ahead attack by Chisora for him to carry it out. He can’t have any hesitation with this plan because if he attacks half-halfheartedly, Wladimir will eat him up on the way in.
