This fight is going to be part of Showtime’s doubleheader with Carl Froch vs. Arthur Abraham being shown on the same night in a different location. Bika won’t be a part of the Super Six tournament because Showtime has decided not to replace Dirrell with anyone. As such, Bika is in a money fight hoping to win Ward’s World Boxing Association title.

I wish I could say that Bika had a chance in this fight, but I can’t see him having any chance whatsoever in winning it. The difference in talent between these two fighters is miles apart. Bika is a fighter that loads up with everything and doesn’t move well or jab. He’s all or nothing. While Ward is fast, has great jab and fight well on the inside or outside. I can’t see Bika winning one round in this fight. This is going to be another lopsided 12 round decision for Ward, just his victories against Edison Miranda and Allan Green.

Bika has lost to fighters like Joe Calzaghe and Lucian Bute, both of which I see Ward beating with ease. That shows you what Bika is up against in this fight. Bika just doesn’t have the talent to beat a fast fighter with as many skills as Ward. I expect Bika to try and rough Ward up on the inside, but when that isn’t happening for him, he might take it to the next level and really try to rough Ward up. It won’t work, because Ward won’t be ruffled up and thrown off his game the way that Calzaghe was when he faced Bika in October 2006.

Recently, Bika blew what was almost a sure thing win over Jean Paul Mendy by nailing him after Bika had already knocked Mendy down. That bout was an IBF super middleweight eliminator bout, but as it turns out, Bika isn’t missing out on a title shot because of his selection for Ward by Showtime. Never the less, Bika still is going to lose the fight, just as he would have had he fought Bute for his IBF super middleweight title. Bika will give Ward the chance to show his stuff in front of the world, and show the other Super Six contestants Froch and Abraham what they’ll be facing when one of them ends up fighting Ward.
