He has been charged with felony grand-larceny, following an allegation that Mayweather stole an iPhone from ex-girlfriend Josie Harris’s home. In Nevada, any stolen item valued higher than $250 is considered a grand-larceny offense.

Harris has also filed for a restraining order against Mayweather after he allegedly assaulted her during an argument in her home. According to her statement, Floyd pulled her by her hair out of her bed while she slept, threw her to the ground, dragged her into the living room and proceeded to punch her in the head. After that she says he dragged her across the living room floor, and twisted her arm back in an attempt to break it. She says he was beating her in plain sight of their three children.

On top of the physical assault, Floyd allegedly threatened to beat the children as well if they ran away or called the police. After that he screamed he would kill Harris and her new boyfriend.

This incident followed an earlier confrontation, where Floyd apparently allegedly stormed her house and yelled at her about the new boyfriend. She called the police, who are reported as escorting Floyd out of the home. It wasn’t until later that night, while she was asleep, that he snuck in through a back door and attacked her.

The police are pushing for the DA to add a domestic battery on top of the grand-larceny charge. The DA is reviewing the evidence to see if such a charge is warranted.

Mayweather’s attorney, Richard Wright, maintains that his client, Floyd Mayweather Jr., is not guilty of any wrongdoing. No doubt the interviews with the children will be a good determining factor as to the truth behind Josie Harris’s statement. We as boxing fans hope this incident is being misreported, as it would be the second professional boxing atrocity in less than a year, the first being the rage and demise of Edwin Valero.
