By Muizz Ali: As this year is set out to be a boxing supreme year, all boxing fans are thinking of potential boxing matches. We are all talking about fights such as Floyd Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO’s) vs Manny
Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) or Amir Khan (23-1,17 KO’s) vs Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27 KO’s) and Paul Williams (39-1,27 KO’s)- Sergio Martinez (45-2-2, 24 KO’s) fight number two.

All of these are mouthwatering fights that we are all mentioning but one fight we seem to be missing out is World Boxing Assocition featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (18-0,15) vs WBO featherweight champion Juan Manual Lopez (28-0,25), this fight is equally as exciting and will decide who will be one of the future’s top boxer.

We have Juan Manual Lopez with a perfect record. In his fights he shows power,heart and a defence that consists of his chin, this is what attracts the fans to love him as much as they do. Lopez overwhelms you with his long punches and never stops trying to knock you out.Then we have Yuriorkis Gamboa who shows blistering hand speed, wall breaking power and a dodgy defence. Gamboa attacks with very fast laser like punches and then doubles up anything else he throws.

On the downside Gamboa has had trips to the canvas on a few occasions with punchers who do not hit as hard as Lopez but Gamboa has gotten up to finish them off. Gamboa has a sense of cockiness around his boxing, hands down and chin up, this is what I believe is one of his attibutes. This attracts opponents to come in and let Gamboa hit counter them with his laser like punches. On the downside for Lopez is that he gets hit more than often in fights as he believes in his chin and power to help him walk through the opponent.

This will be a problem against Gamboa as Gamboa will throw powerful and blazing fast punches before Lopez can land a jab or a long right hand. Both boxers are the best at what they do but watching Gamboa reminds you of a Miniature Mike Tyson (power) and Roy Jones Jr ( speed) in their Prime. I believe when this fight happens it will turn into a war, and which ever boxer wins will have earned the respect of the boxing world. In my eyes I have Gamboa taking this fight by KO because of his blistering hand speed and crushing Power. Having said this we will only find out when they decide to fight each other,as both boxers are talented and the best at what they do.
