Adamek, weighed in at a slender 217, three pounds lighter than his last fight at 220 against Jason Estrada in February. Adamek had talked about coming in heavier for this fight, but seems to have chosen instead to be lighter to give him more speed to move against the heavier Arreola.

250 is a little heavier than what Arreola wanted to come in at for the fight. He talked about coming into the fight in the 230s or low 240s. However, Arreola had simply too much weight to take off and not enough time to trim it off of him in the last weeks of the fight. However, 251 is a good weight for Arreola, and is slightly lower than the 251 he came in for his fight against Vitali Klitschko last year in September.

Arreola will still have a 33 pound weight advantage over Adamek, which should be plenty enough to overpower Adamek if he can catch up to the Polish heavyweight. Ideally, Arreola shouldn’t try to chase Adamek around the ring all night long because that’s not something that will favor Arreola. Adamek does well when he has an opponent chasing him. This allows him to pick them off on the move. Arreola instead needs to stay patient, use his jab a lot and throw shots when Adamek comes in trying to land his combinations. Adamek likes to slug a little and he’ll be there for Arreola enough so that he’ll be able to test his chin.
