Image: Roach: “Mosley will be beaten by Floyd”By William Mackay: In an article at the Telegraph, trainer Freddie Roach says that he thinks that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will beat Shane Mosley if they do end up fighting. Right now, the fight is up in the air because Mayweather hasn’t said a thing for almost a week after the contract was signed by Mosley for a fight on May 1st, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roach, the trainer for Manny Pacquiao among many others, says “If Floyd does fight Shane, that’s a good fight, and one I’d like to see.

But Mosley will be beaten by Floyd. Mosley does well with guys who will come at him. He has trouble with guys who move. Mayweather wins that fight. But Mosley is a brave guy. If for any reason Mosley wins, Manny would definitely fight him. We’ll take that fight.” If Mosley wins that fight, there would be little choice for Pacquiao to take the fight against Mosley. What Roach says isn’t really earth shattering news by any means.

That’s the only fight out there for Pacquiao, unless he wants to fight light middleweight Paul Williams. Of course, I could see Pacquiao continuing to fight Top Rank fighters and choosing to fight Yuri Foreman in a move to collect another paper title. However, I don’t see that as being worth anything, just as the fight against Joshua Clottey seems to be a waste of time for Pacquiao. The only real option for Pacquiao is a fight against Mayweather or Mosley, and if Shane knocks off Mayweather, then that’s the fight that Pacquiao has to take.
