Image: Pacquiao: The Pride of a True ChampionBy Emmanuel Tolentino: The envious and futile critics of the Manny Pacquiao sensation just don’t seem to stop and get it. So now, allow me put it straight to your understanding on why the P4P’s camp has to come up with such decisions regarding the drug test issue (which I personally believe isn’t supposed to be a subject of concern).

On the urine tests:

First, without any hesitation or whatsoever, Manny Pacquiao had already agreed to the 3 urine tests (which is more than the usual) that the camp of the Mayweathers are asking. Though he’s not really on steroids, Pacquiao must have felt that there is a need to silence the loud-mouthed naysayers so he decided to give in and had set aside his pride, thinking that it is his responsibility to not disappoint boxing fans with the much anticipated mega fight.

On the blood tests:

Pacquiao’s camp ain’t just talking about the physical effects of the blood test. Apparently, his conditioning team knows that it’s not that big of a deal. But the thing is, let me say this again, it’s more of the psychological upshot that it will bring to the boxer. Though he never used any of those supplements that these jealous freaks are saying, somehow, the pressures gonna build up and might lead to emotional distress. Have you not been into a situation wherein you honestly did your best to climb your way up, yet you’ll hear them chanting that you cheated? My dear readers, frustration is a horrific state of mind that athletes don’t want to have ‘coz it makes them lose focus and enthusiasm to the sport that they love the most.

On Pacquiao’s stand:

Lastly, Pacquiao didn’t become the Pound-for-Pound champ for nothing. A champion has to stand up with pride. Last time I checked, Pacquiao’s the reigning #1 boxer in the world, and to be pushed over with wild, pointless accusations from those irritating jesters is totally an insult. Why give in to the demands of people who have the reputation of ducking great boxers of this decade? If Manny will let this people dictate to him for this bout, then he’s a champion for nothing. Compromising isn’t a bad idea, still there has to be a limit.

If Mayweather presses on with his lame excuses, then Manny has to stand up as a champion and call-off the fight. He can wait for the winner of the Berto-Mosely. Both of them can really give him the challenge that he wanted.

On Floyd Mayweather:

As for Mayweather, I suggest the he should start the process of finding his balls. His look-a-like dad must have hid it somewhere. These people just can’t accept the fact that one of the greatest boxers that ever lived has to be in their lifetime. Worst, they have to fight him.
