Fury Predicts Victory for Wladimir: “He [Haye] Has No Chin Whatsoever”

It may not be the most pleasing news for Haye, but it’s also something that many other boxing experts have been openly saying about Haye’s June 20th bout with Wladimir in Germany.

Haye, 28, has a history of being hurt while fighting against much smaller fighters than Wladimir while campaigning as a cruiserweight division. Now, Haye brings the same chin problem with him to the heavyweight level where he immediately will be stepping in the ring with Wladimir Klitschko, the IBF/WBO heavyweight champion.

Haye is taking the fight with little experience at the heavyweight level, having only fought twice thus far against Tomasz Bonin and Monte Barrett. Haye skipped over facing tough heavyweight contenders like Alexander Povetkin, Alexander Dimitrenko, Eddie Chambers and Samuel Peter.

The lack of experience at the heavyweight level could very well bite Haye on the backside when he faces Wladimir, who punches much harder than Jean Marc Mormeck, Barrett, and Lolenga Mock, fighters that put Haye on the canvas.

Fury sees Wladimir knocking Haye out and feels that Haye will be exposed by Wladimir on June 20th. It’s too bad, because Haye, if he had gone about things right at heavyweight by fighting his way into a heavyweight shot, he might stand a much better shot against Wladimir than what he has now. But, then again, Haye might also have gotten knocked out by Dimitrenko, Povekin or Peter, so maybe it’s best that Haye talked his way into the fight without the needed experience.

Wladimir has held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight title since 2006, and has defended it successfully six times against opponents Calvin Brock, Ray Austin, Lamon Brewster, Sultan Ibragimov, Tony Thompson and Hasim Rahman. In 2008, Wladimir defeated Ibragimov to win the WBO heavyweight belt.

Haye defeated Mormeck by a 7th round stoppage in November 2007 to capture the WBA and WBC cruiserweight titles. Four months later, Haye knocked out World Boxing Organization (WBO) cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli in the 2nd round to capture that belt as well. However, rather than defending the titles, Haye opted to move up to the heavyweight division and pursue a bout with Wladimir Klitschko and his brother Vitali.
