Graf, 27, appeared to win every round of the fight and had little trouble beating Finer. The final judges’ scores were 98-92, 98-93 and 97-93, for Graf.

There was little drama in the fight, as the bout was mostly a tactical match in which Graff, a light puncher, used her jab and combinations to pound out a decision over the slower, more methodical punching Finer.

The first round was dominated by Graf, who jabbed away at Finer trying to keep her at a distance. Finer only attempted a handful of punches during the round, but most were picked off by Graf with her gloves and elbows.

Finer pressed the action in rounds 2-4, coming forward and throwing big arcing hooks, that occasionally got through Graf’s guard. However, in between her attacks, Graf kept a steady downpour of combinations raining in on Finer. The punches had little on them but they still were connecting to the head of Finer, reddening her face and keeping her from getting her own shots off.

In rounds five though ten, Graf continued with her domination of Finer, hitting her with numerous combinations and jabs. Finer landed well in rounds eight and nine, but she was still getting out-punched in each of the rounds, which made it hard for me to justify giving her the rounds. Her own punches weren’t that much harder than Graf’s, something that kept me from giving her the nod in some of the closer rounds. Her work rate, however, was Finer’s biggest problem, in that she just didn’t let her hands go enough, and even when she did, her handspeed was so poor that Graf was able to block many of the slow shots.
