Malignaggi rips Kevin Mitchell

Image: Malignaggi rips Kevin MitchellBy William Mackay: Well it looks like Paulie Malignaggi didn’t take the criticism too well from unbeaten lightweight contender Kevin Mitchell (31-0, 23 KO’s) yesterday when the British fighter commented on Amir Khan facing an easy opponent. Malignaggi, not one to let an insult go by without responding, fired back on his Twitter page, saying “Kevin Mitchell wants to speak my name? You got something to say? Say it to my face. This is the only time, your going to be famous, when Paulie Malignaggi mentions your name! You’ve been cuddled more then Khan has man. Talking about your in a tougher fight, your fighting a human punching bag man, if you can’t beat a punching bag. You might as well retire! Because you suck!! So, watch your mouth Chump! Because wishes do come true ask Amir Khan. But I make dreams, turn into nightmares. So worry about your fight and [Michael] Katsidis.”

Malignaggi fires back at Khan about retirement talk

Image: Malignaggi fires back at Khan about retirement talkby William Mackay: Unhappy with WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan’s recent comments about Malignaggi retiring after if/when he beats him on May 15th at Madison Square Garden, in New York, the 29-year-old Malignaggi responded with this message from his Twitter account: “Beat me into retirement? Khan has been taking his balls out his purse lately. Khan can talk all he wants, because he knows as soon as he steps foot in New York City, the tone on his twitter will change.” Khan has been unusually vocal lately, slamming both Malignaggi and Carl Froch, talking retirement for both of them and outlining his own 5 year retirement plan for his career.

Khan vs. Malignaggi: Will Amir dazzle or disappoint?

Image: Khan vs. Malignaggi: Will Amir dazzle or disappoint?By William Mackay: On May 15th, WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (22-1, 16 KO’s) will be making his U.S. debut fight against Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO’s) at Madison Square Garden, in New York. Khan, 23, has a lot of pressure on him in this fight as he’s looking to become a big mega star in American in the same class as Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Khan, for that reason, can’t simply get by Malignaggi in old way. He has to really dominate him and preferably take out before the 12th round.

Khan-Malignaggi: How long will Amir’s fame last in the U.S?

Image: Khan-Malignaggi: How long will Amir's fame last in the U.S?By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (22-1, 15 KO’s) is hoping that his fight against Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO’s) leads to big things for him in the United States. Khan is already a star in the UK, where his fights are shown on PPV and his fights are jam packed with fans. However, now that Khan is no longer fighting smaller lightweights and older fighters with little power, he’s coming to a point in his career where he will very soon find out whether he had the stuff to be a star in boxing.

Khan vs. Malignaggi: Will it be any surprise if Paulie knocks Amir cold?

Image: Khan vs. Malignaggi: Will it be any surprise if Paulie knocks Amir cold?By William Mackay: As I look over the upcoming title fight on May 15th between WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (22-1 16 KO’s) and Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO’s), I wonder whether Khan’s sometimes brittle chin will fail him once again. It’s been a couple of years since Khan was tapped on the chin and knocked out by Breidis Prescott in September 2008, and it seems like another knockout is long overdue for Khan. This fight has the right ingredients for Khan to be knocked out once again – Amir making his debut in the United States, fighting in front of a large crowd and looking to make impressive performance.

Khan vs. Malignaggi: Will a win over Paulie give Amir Credibility with American boxing fans?

Image: Khan vs. Malignaggi: Will a win over Paulie give Amir Credibility with American boxing fans?By William Mackay: I’m still trying to figure out what WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (22-1, 16 KO’s) hopes to prove in taking on and perhaps beating a fighter like former International Boxing Federation light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO’s) next month on May 15th at Madison Square Garden, in New York. I see this fight as a foxhole for Khan, a place to hide while the top guys like WBA light welterweight interim champion and WBO lightweight champion Timothy Bradley fight it out. That should have been Khan’s fight, not Maidana.

Will Amir Khan start facing better opposition after the Malignaggi fight

Image: Will Amir Khan start facing better opposition after the Malignaggi fightBy Sean McDaniel: World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan (22-1, 16 KO’s) wants to be a big star in the United States and is hoping to pave his way into accomplishing that goal with his fight against former IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi on May 15th at Madison Square Garden in New York. But for Khan to become a big star, he’s going to have to start to face better fighters, because it’s unlikely that he’ll get the respect that he craves so badly by facing and beating fighters like Dmitri Salita, Andriy Kotelnik and Malignaggi.

Malignaggi-Khan: Will Paulie go out on his back?

Image: Malignaggi-Khan: Will Paulie go out on his back?By Sean McDaniel: Former IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO’s) may be one of the top 10 fighters in the light welterweight division, but I think he’s going to have problems making it out of his May 15th fight with WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (22-1, 16 KO’s) on his feet. I think there’s a better than average chance that Malignaggi is going to end up badly beaten and stretched out on the canvas by the end of this fight.

Khan vs. Malignaggi: Does Paulie have enough power to dent Amir’s chin

Image: Khan vs. Malignaggi: Does Paulie have enough power to dent Amir’s chinBy Dan Ambrose: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan may have a ton of speed going for him in his match-up with former International Boxing Federation light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi for their May 15th fight, but Khan’s chin is a major liability for him coming into this fight. Malignaggi may or may not have the power to test Khan’s glass chin, though, but he needs to try his best to test it.
