Khan’s name has been mentioned with those fighter, but as of yet he’s still not proven that he belongs with fighters in that class.

The Malignaggi bout is being used to build a fan base for Khan, a fight that was put together to give Khan a better chance of both winning and looking good. Khan, 23, wants to be not only well known in the United States, but he also wants to be a huge mega star in the States.

McGuigan says “In giving up home advantage, he [Khan] has forfeited a degree of control he would have otherwise had that can be important at this stage in his education.” I think Khan will be alright fighting in the U.S. He really doesn’t need a bunch of adoring fans cheering him on for him to be successful in the United States.

By William Mackay: Alex Ariza, the strength and conditioning coach who works with trainer Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao, wants World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan to destroy Paulie Malignaggi when the two fighters meet up in two months in a title match on May 15th, at the Madison Square Garden. Ariza, according to Insidesports.ph, is upset with some of the comments that Malignaggi made Pacquiao in the past. Ariza says “I want him [Khan] to destroy Malignaggi for what he’s said” [about Pacquiao].
