De La Hoya: Canelo wants to do damage to Golovkin
By Chris Williams: Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya says his fighter Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) really wants to get out there and do damage to the knockout artist Gennady ‘GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) on Saturday night.
Canelo – Golovkin: Time for the Real Fight
By Michael Montero – Just minutes after the circus left Las Vegas three weeks ago, boxing fans have been buzzing about the biggest middleweight championship fight in years. This Saturday inside the sold-out T-Mobile Arena, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez puts his lineal middleweight crown on the line against Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and his unified WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO titles. Although the WBC and IBO titles will not be on the line for the red-headed Mexican (he refuses to work with the WBC and does not recognize the IBO), make no mistake, the winner of this fight will be THE MAN at 160 pounds. It’s a refreshing contrast from what took place inside the same arena on August 26th – no exaggerated gate revenue claims, no false reports of ticket sales and PPV buy rates, no undeserved paydays, no professional debuts, no WWE style promoting – but rather two elite level boxers still in their prime, putting it all on the line in for true fight fans.
Canelo-Golovkin: Champion of Champions – Is The Fight of The Decade Finally Here?
By Rob Blakeman: The wait has made the anticipation greater. Finally, on Saturday night it will happen. Billed as the fight of the decade, two of the best boxers in the World (in any weight division) will meet for all the marbles at Middleweight. The lineal Champion will emerge from the inevitable fireworks that will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, America on the 16th.
Sanchez: Golovkin will wear Canelo down and stop him
By Jim Dower: Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will be worn down from the pressure and the body punches from Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and stopped in the 10th or 11th round, according to trainer Abel Sanchez. He doesn’t believe that Canelo will be able to handle the “presence” from Triple G, as he’s going to be right in front of him during every second of their fight, hitting him with hard shots to the body and forcing him to always defend.
Will Canelo Finally Receive Credit if he Beats Golovkin?
By Amir Mustafaa: Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto, Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara, Shane Mosley, Amir Khan, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr are names that would appear on the resume of a hall of fame veteran on his way to retirement, yet this resume belongs to a twenty-seven-year-old with years left in the gas tank. Canelo Alvarez isn’t a perfect fighter; he lost against Floyd Mayweather, and people have criticized some of his recent fights. Nevertheless, he deserves a lot more credit from the boxing community than he’s getting now.
Roach: Canelo could have trouble making weight for GGG
By Sean Jones: Trainer Freddie Roach thinks it’s a mistake on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s part for him to have bulked up so much for his fight against Gennady Golovkin this Saturday night for their Las Vegas based fight at the T-Mobile Arena.
Kell Brook expects Golovkin to lose to Canelo
By Scott Gilfoid: Kell Brook is picking Saul “Canelo” Alvarez to defeat IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin this Saturday night in Las Vegas. Brook had his chance against Golovkin last year, but he quit fighting in the 5th round and he had to be pulled out by his trainer Dominic Ingle before he got seriously hurt.
Danny Jacobs: GGG beats Canelo
By Jim Dower: Former middleweight champion Danny Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) is picking Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) to defeat the highly popular Mexican PPV attraction Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jacobs says Golovkin’s size, power and his experience in the 160 lb. division will be the telling factors in him beating Canelo.
