Mayweather: Pacquiao was “exposed” and looked “one-dimensional” against Clottey

Image: Mayweather: Pacquiao was “exposed” and looked “one-dimensional” against ClotteyBy Esteban Garduno: Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. saw last Saturday night’s match between Joshua Clottey and Manny Pacquiao and he was not impressed in the least, saying in an article at Cagereport.net, “Personally, I think Pacquiao got exposed in that fight for being one-dimensional. You can have all [the] offence ability in the world but with no defense you’re not going to last long against a good counter puncher such as myself. Look at the way Clottey was getting through, each time he threw something it landed. Then at the end Pacquiao’s was all busted up, when’s the last time you’ve seen my face all messed up like that? That’s the difference between an amateur and a true pound for pound boxer.”

Why Mayweather can look Pretty Against Pacquiao

Image: Why Mayweather can look Pretty Against PacquiaoBy Paul Williams: I want “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs “Pacman” Manny Pacquiao! With certain reservations, Floyd wins. First and foremost, lets get a huge point out the way. I am a Pacman fan and I want this to argue both sides. I don’t believe for a second the whole drug taunts are true, I believe it less than Floyd does. He is simply getting in Manny’s head, plain and simple. Floyd is a highly intelligent fighter who believes fights can be won before you enter the ring. He proved this against Hatton. its the exact same strategy he used get under Ricky Hatton’s skin, something no-one had done before.

Mosley would be just as dangerous for Pacquiao as Mayweather

Image: Mosley would be just as dangerous for Pacquiao as MayweatherBy Dennis Broadhurst: When Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather square up on May 1st, I am pretty sure that Floyd will be the one who comes out on top. I think that Floyd’s defence and movement will stop Mosley from landing too much and his slick counter punching will get him the decision. However, I do think that against Manny Pacquiao, Shane would be just as dangerous.

Pacquiao wants Mayweather bout

Image: Pacquiao wants Mayweather boutBy Sean McDaniel: After easily defeating former IBF welterweight champion Joshua Clottey by a 12 round lopsided unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium, Manny Pacquiao is now calling for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight him. Pacquiao says “I want that fight, but it’s up to him. I’m ready to fight any time. Maybe if [Shane] Mosley wins, I’ll fight him. Floyd’s style isn’t that difficult, though.” There’s one problem with Pacquiao fighting Mayweather and that’s the Olympic style blood testing that Mayweather wants.

Mayweather may have to give into Pacquiao about the blood testing

Image: Mayweather may have to give into Pacquiao about the blood testingBy Chris Williams: In reading some of the comments made by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, it seems like it might be a better idea for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to look in another direction for a fight rather than pursuing a fight with Manny Pacquiao. At Yahoo Sports, Arum said when speaking about negotiating with Mayweather, “You don’t negotiate. Neville Chamberlain negotiated with Hitler in Munich, and look what happened. Let the commission set whatever kind of drug testing. It has to be amplified, then that’s up to them. The only way a fight can be is if Mayweather want to fight and signs a contract like [everyone] else signs a contract.”

Pacquiao is lucky he wasn’t facing Mayweather instead of Clottey

Image: Pacquiao is lucky he wasn’t facing Mayweather instead of ClotteyBy Dave Lahr: Okay, I’ve seen the Pacquiao-Clottey fight, and I now think Pacquiao should consider himself the luckiest man on the face of the earth that he wasn’t facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. instead of Joshua Clottey last night at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. Mayweather would have boxed the socks of Pacquiao and given headaches for ages. As it was, Clottey hit Pacquiao at will. Really, it was like Clottey couldn’t miss with his shots. Granted, it would have helped if Clottey had at least thrown a few more punches and shown an interest in actually winning the fight instead of just looking to survive.

Roach says “We took Clottey because we’re still chasing after Mayweather” – News

Image: Roach says “We took Clottey because we’re still chasing after Mayweather” – NewsBy Esteban Garduno: Freddie Roach seems to be conflicted about wanting Manny Pacquiao to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. On one hand, Roach can’t stop talking about how much he wants Pacquiao to fight Mayweather next, and yet in the next breath, Roach is saying that Mayweather doesn’t make the rules in boxing. Roach, of course, is talking about the Olympic style random blood tests that Mayweather wants Pacquiao to take before he’ll fight him. For some strange reason that I’ll never understand, Roach sees this as a case of Mayweather trying to throw his weight around and push Pacquiao to do something he doesn’t want to do.

Roach wants Pacquiao to fight Mayweather, but still seems resistant to blood testing

Image: Roach wants Pacquiao to fight Mayweather, but still seems resistant to blood testingBy Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is very interested in having Pacquiao fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. next, as long as Mayweather wins his next fight against Shane Mosley on May 1st. However, Roach’s attitude remains negative about the Olympic style random blood testing that Mayweather has been insisting on for Pacquiao to take before he will fight him. In an article at the Lasvegassun, Roach says “I don’t think Floyd is big enough to make the rules. We’re not going to do any rule he says. It’s like giving away the first two rounds to him [Mayweather]. It gives him confidence and we won’t do that.” Roach goes on to say that he is hoping that Mayweather finds himself in a bad situation financially to the point where he really needs money badly.
