Deontay Wilder will be ready to beat Wladimir Klitschko by next year

However, give it another year and the 6’7″ Wilder, after beating Britain’s Tyson Fury and possibly David Haye, will have the tools to do a proper demolish job on the 39-year-old Wladimir.

At some point during the fight with Wladimir, Wilder will land that big right and that is all he would need. I was as surprised as everyone else when Deontay fought an intelligent and mature fight against former WBCn heavyweight champion Bermane Steverne in beating him by a 12 round unanimous decision earlier this month on January 17th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was quite something to see the KO artist Wilder, who came into the fight with a windmilling style, do a real professional job on the then champ Stiverne. This is my point. Wilder and his camp obviously did their homework and fought to their strengths and skill set. This is something they would do against Wladimir.

Deontay and his bomb squad team should first take on Fury, a big heavy, skillful boxer/fighter who will try to sap him of his strength by leaning on him and  roughing him up on the inside. However, with Wilder’s punching power coupled with Fury’s fragile defence and even more fragile chin, it would be prudent to believe that Wilder has his number. After that take on a superstar like Haye. This would be another test that Wilder should win by devastating KO later in the fight but not before Haye gives him a bit of a scare.

After this Wilder goes back into training and learns from these two fights. And learns well

Wilder obviously learns very well and can box to his strengths. Let’s have it right Wilder’s biggest strength is his freakish right hand that if landed would render all heavyweights in a world of trouble. Wladimir’s biggest weakness is his chin. This is why Wladimir is so defensive-minded. The problem for Wladimir is that Wilder should and could very easily land one of those right hand bangers. And that would be that.

I believe Wilder will fight Wladimir next year after learning and training hard this year. Wilder will win and becomes the undisputed and undefeated heavyweight champion of the world. Then along comes Anthony Joshua from the UK, but that’s for another day.
