Chris Mannix is reporting that Dirrell and Gamboa could be signing with 50 Cent’s new boxing promotional company “TMT Promotions” any day now.

Gamboa, 30, and Dirrell, 28, have both been out of the ring since last year, and a lot of boxing fans have been wondering what’s holding them up. Gamboa recently left Top Rank Promotions after pulling out of a fight against Brandon Rios without warning. And Dirrell last fought in December of last year, and recently passed up a great opportunity to face Adonis Stevenson in an IBF super middleweight eliminator bout which would have made Dirrell the mandatory challenger for IBF 168 pound Carl Froch had he won the fight.

In an odd move, Dirrell left Gary Show and Al Haymon, both of which are highly respected in the boxing world. It was though that Dirrell might sign with Mayweather Promotions, but it looks like he could be signing with Mayweather’s close friend 50 Cent instead.

Both Dirrell and Gamboa are talented enough to win titles if they get busy, but they can’t afford to stay idle like this any longer if they want to make something out of their careers, especially Dirrell. He’s only had one fight in the past two years and he’s in danger of losing his best years to inactivity. He’s still young enough to make something out of himself but he’s got to get really busy and try to fight at least four times a year if he wants to get somewhere.
