Predictions: Froch, Dirrell and Ward to come out on top
Froch-Kessler: I see this fight coming out with Froch on top through a hard fought decision or very late stoppage. I think Froch will struggle in the early rounds with Kessler but his chin will take him through to dominate the later rounds (9-12). I would not be suprised for Froch to be dropped early on much like against Taylor but then coming back. I don’t think Kessler likes taking a hit (not that anyone does) he will backdown later on when Froch comes on strong with his powerful punches, thinking he will need a knockout to win and may score a stoppage but will have the last round rally he needed. Both men will be great on the night but I see a tight victory for Froch.
Ward-Green: I think that Ward will win this one, it will be a hard fight as Green is a big puncher but I think that Ward will win a decision because of his superior skill. I know Green has the power to stop anybody if he catches them right but Ward has good power of his own and I think that even if Green drops Ward, that Ward will fight on in a great display to win the decision.

I think the upset will be direel over abraham … where Froch kept comming and scored points when Dirrell ran Abraham wil sit and wait for Dirrell to come back at him. Dirrell by decision .
Froch win KO
Ward win 12 round desision
And I can’t call AA Dirrell, if Dirrell has the correct gameplan he will win! If he has the same gameplan as the Froch fight AA will take him out.
Looking forward to all three fights anyway!
@Pete
What i am saying Pete is that against Kessler, Froch will have a guy who has a 73% ko ratio, Kessler hits hard.
All the guys that hurt Froch before, were not really puncher and he still got hurt…against Kessler if he gets up, he will be finish right away.
great article..spot on
Speaking about Froch and kessler – Tjeck out the video from march 4′th:

Funny
I see Dirrell using his speed to win the first few rounds, but as the fight wears on AA will start to hurt and tire him…AA will KO him late in the fight.
Kessler “should” easily outbox Froch to a decision, and I think he will unless his stamina isn’t there. Froch has to wear him down and KO or else he’ll lose because his volume is generally low.
Ward will win an easy decision by using his speed and defense. Green will probably land a few good shots but nothing serious.
It’s going to end up Ward vs. AA and that’ll be a toss up.
@ benzo
You say Froch got hurt in his fights… well, what do you expect? This is boxing and Froch can take a punch to give a punch so his style means he is going to get hurt. What are the bets Taylor and Pascal where hurting more then Froch after their fights?
froch loses to both kessler and AA and then retires from boxing . . . well maybe not retire but becomes irrelevant
Dirrel could out Box AA. AA is solid as a rock but rocks do not move that well.
Green could shock everyone, he is underrated and could now be the dark horse of this whole thing. to bad he did not face AA in the first round because now he does not stand a chance in the tournament
Cotto can not beat any elete fighters anymore he has been HIT to HARD to many times and he is finshed and should find a new line of work.He was/is a warrior with too much Heart for his own good and he should Quit before he Gets Hurt Bad
Pretty good article, but consider a different scenario for AA vs. Dirrell. Should AA connect early it is very likely that Dirrell will just run for the remainder of the fight. While I agree that AA might have a hard time catching up with him, Dirrell would have to rely on a hme-town decision and if he runs enough it may turn the judges off enough to give AA the nod.
Ward will win anyhow
Abraham by ko
Kessler by ko, you are saying Froch has got a good chin…he got hurt by Dirrell, who is far from a puncher, he went down against Taylor and Pascal also hurt him.
Good article and sensible conclusions. I think your prediction of the Froch v Kessler bout is spot-on. It will be close but Froch is the guy who can dig deep and find a way though. His chin, heavy hands and unbelievable conditioning outweight what Kessler has in his locker.
I’ve said all along that Dirrell could beat Abraham and win on points. He needs to stay focused and be consistent in his work. If he can land more and more often then Abraham will be lost for ideas… but Abraham is such a dangerous puncher that Dirrell is going to have to be on top of game 100%.
Ward v Green is an odd one and harder to read then the other two bouts. Ward looked great in beating Kessler but I have always thought Kessler could be over-rated. I don’t mean to take anything away from Ward because I hope he really is that good, he has an interesting style that entertains. We know what Green can do and we know he is dangerous but I have to go with Ward.
Froch – 5 points
Ward – 4 points
Abraham – 3 points
Dirrell – 2 points
Kessler & Green – 0 points (and they fight each other in the 3rd round.!!)
completely agree with these predictions! well thought through
I have Abraham, Kessler and Ward.
For a change I agree and I think your analysis is correct.
