Deontay Wilder vs. Siarhei Liakhovich signed for August 9th

wilder7 - CopyBy Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight KO artist Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) will be taking the next step in his promising career with a scheduled 10 round bout against former WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich (25-5, 16 KO’s) on August 9th at a still to be determined venue in the United States.

There had been talk previously that the fight would be staged in Alabama, but that’s still not a certainty at this point. According to Dan Rafael of ESPN, the fight could take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio, California. Alabama also remains as possibility.

Deontay Wilder vs. Siarhei Liakhovich possible for Showtime in Alabama TBA

liakhovich44553533By Scott Gilfoid: A fight between unbeaten American heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) and former WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich (25-5, 16 KO’s) is a possibility, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

He’s saying that Wilder will most likely be facing the 37-year-old Liakhovich next. This makes sense because the 6’7” Deontay recently said he would be facing a well-known Russian fighter next, and Liakovich is from Belarus, which is right next to Russia. Liakovich now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
