By Scott Gilfoid: Two time light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson was speaking a lot of truth on Eastsideboxing’s On The Ropes Boxing Radio program today. Dawson gave his views on who he sees as the best fighters in the Super Six tournament, and made it clear that he sees WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward as the winner of the Super Six.
Ward vs. Abraham
Pascal predicts win for Ward over Abraham in Super Six bout
By Jason Kim: WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal thinks unbeaten World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight champion Andre Ward (23-0, 13 KO’s) will beat former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-2, 25 KO’s) in their Super Six tourney semifinals next year. The date and the month have yet to be determined for this fight, because there’s talk of Abraham fighting a tune-up bout beforehand in February next year.
Why is unbeaten Andre Ward so unpopular in America?
By Allen Hmiel: Andre Ward has done everything right in boxing and in life. He has represented his country in the Olympics and brought home the gold medal for the USA. He has worked hard is clean cut and never been in trouble. A married man and father dedicated to his family and a Christian clean living representative of America. Andre has done everything correctly in boxing and in life but yet remains virtually an unknown un-respected unloved and under-appreciated boxer and man.
Andre Ward needs to fight Arthur Abraham in Germany to send a message
By Scott Gilfoid: With a lot of fans upset with the talented WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (23-0, 13 KO’s) because of his luck of being able to fight his first two Super Six tournament fights at home at the Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California, I think Ward should be gracious and brave enough to take on Abraham in his home country of Germany to show the boxing world that he can be beaten there. Abraham’s last opponent Carl Froch wanted no part of fighting Abraham in Germany, believing that he couldn’t win a decision over there.
Abraham has to fight with more urgency against Ward if he doesn’t want to be embarrassed
By Sean McDaniel: Former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-2, 25 KO’s) put in a really poor effort against Carl Froch last weekend in one-sided loss in their Super Six tournament fight in Helsinki, Finland. Abraham was supposed to have shown more urgency in that fight by throwing more punches than he had in his loss to Andre Dirrell in March. Instead, Abraham threw few punches and mostly just covered up taking shots and throwing wild haymaker punches from time to time.
