By Matt Flanagan: We hear this debate endlessly discussed – should a fighter retire or should he continue. Roy Jones Jr and Joe Calzaghe are 2 topical discussions albeit debated for different reason’s. Jones is well past his peak and perhaps should have retired some years ago, while Calzaghe went out at the top when he arguably could have continued and more than likely would have remained unbeaten – I don’t see anyone out there who would have touched him, least of all Carl Froch, although I would be a liar if I said I would not love to see that fight.

Hatton drops Hint of a Comeback
By Liam Santiago: In history, very few of the greatest fighters retire undefeated. Roberto Duran, Muhammed Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson are just a few of the all time greats to taste defeat. Ricky Hatton tasted defeat for the second time against Manny Pacquiao in May and has to make the biggest decision of his career, weather to retire or fight on. He has, however, recently dropped the strongest hint yet that he will fight again.
Haye Likely to Wait on Fight With One Of Klitschko Brothers
By Chris Williams: It seems that David Haye isn’t going to be getting back in the ring anytime soon regardless of whether his back heals up in the next month and is looking at getting back in the ring in September to hopefully fight for one of the heavyweight titles against either of the Klitschko brothers.
All Fighters Should Be Like Froch
By William Mackay: In recent years, boxing has gone downhill with fighters have become more and more focused on building up their records by taking the easiest fights possible at the expense of developing their skills by facing better opponents. In a lot of cases, you have fighters with dramatically build up records (often unbeaten) with only a small handful of halfway credible opponents.
Can Hatton Redeem Himself With One Final Fight?
By Chris Williams: I think Ricky Hatton is kidding himself if he comes back for one final fight, as if this will give him any kind of “closure” on his career. Unless that fighter is Manny Pacquiao, and Hatton somehow knocks him out, I don’t see the point of Hatton fighting one more time. Hatton might as well hang up the gloves now with his boxing reputation in tatters.
Why Was Calzaghe Unable to Establish Himself With American Boxing Fans?
By Scott Gilfoid: Near the end of his career, the unbeaten WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe fought twice in the U.S., fighting first Bernard Hopkins and then Roy Jones Jr. in 2008. However, neither fight was hugely successful in terms of ratings or PPV buys with boxing fans, and it made me wonder what the difference was between the UK audiences, which would have lapped up this fight like hungry dogs, and the U.S. audiences which could care less about seeing Calzaghe fight two 40-year-old boxing stars.
Maccarinelli Leaves Calzaghe – News
By Jim Dower: Former World Boxing Organization (WBO) cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli (29-3, 22 KOs) has reportedly left his trainer Enzo Calzaghe, the father of former WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, and has taken on a new trainer Karl Ince. It’s unclear what the exact reason for the split, but it likely stems from the fact that Maccarinelli, 28, has lost two out of his last three fights, both by knockouts.
Will Carl Froch Ever Get The Recognition He Deserves?
By Adam Fillingham: After Carl Froch’s defeat of Jermain Taylor on the 25 of April a lot of people have written off the victory due to Taylor being ‘past his best’. Is this true? Or is this just an excuse due to Froch being British? Just look at the fighters that he has as potential opponents:
Lucian Bute:
Calzaghe Not Interested in Fighting Froch
By Eric Thomas: It was expected that former World Boxing Organization super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe wouldn’t be interested in fighting WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch, and now it’s academic after Calzaghe came publicly yesterday and said that he will not be coming out of retirement to fight Froch. For many people in the boxing world, this isn’t exactly unexpected news, because Calzaghe seemed to have made up his mind that he was through with the sport when he retired recently.
Why Is Khan So Ridiculed?
By Gary Burns: Amir Khan has been handed a shot at WBA junior welterweight champ Andreas Kotelnik this summer but the backlash on Khan has been quite phenomenal. Boxing fans around the world have been quick to jump on Khans back saying he is taking an easy route to becoming a world champion.
