Danny Garcia not looking towards Keith Thurman fight

garcia2

By Eric Baldwin: WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia isn’t ready to look bad his opponent Samuel Vargas this Saturday night towards a much bigger fight against WBA champion Keith Thurman next March. Garcia is “pumped up” for his fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike against Vargas despite the fact that he’s not seen as a big name in the sport.

Garcia takes every fight seriously, and he doesn’t want to overlook a guy that has upset on his mind. Vargas has no pressure on him, because he’s seen as the sacrificial lamb for the slaughter in this fight in Garcia’s hometown of Philadelphia.

Danny Garcia vs. Samuel Vargas – Official weights

garcia1

By Eric Baldwin: Danny Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs) successfully weighed in on Friday at 146.6 pounds for his 10 round non-title bout at welterweight against Samuel Vargas (25-2-1, 13 Kos) for their fight on Saturday night on Spike on Premier Boxing Champions at the Liacouras Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Vargas weighed in at 145.7lbs. Garcia’s WBC welterweight title will not be on the line for this fight. This fight is a tune-up for the 28-year-old Garcia to get him ready for a unification fight against WBA champion Keith Thurman next year in March. Garcia is at a point where he doesn’t really need to take any more tune-ops.

Angel Garcia says Danny would whip Terence Crawford

garcia766

By Allan Fox: Trainer Angel Garcia, the father of WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs), has been going back and forth in trash talking WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs).

Angel has gone after Crawford about him fighting John Molina, a fighter who recently was soundly beaten by Adrien Broner and Humberto Soto. Crawford has returned the favor in ridiculing Danny Garcia’s choice of Samuel Vargas (25-2-1, 13 KOs), who he’ll be fighting this Saturday night on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

Samuel Vargas ready to beat Danny Garcia

garcia3

By Eric Baldwin: Contender Samuel Vargas (25-2-1, 13 KOs) is planning on shocking the fans and media this Saturday night by beating WBC welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs) in their fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV at Liacouras Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

It would be surprising if the 6 WBA Vargas is able to pull off an upset against Garcia, because he was clearly selected by Garcia’s management as a guy that wouldn’t give him any problems at all. Vargas was selected because he was viewed as a sure thing win for the 28-year-old Garcia.

Danny Garcia vs. Samuel Vargas this Saturday

garcia73

By Dan Ambrose: WBC welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs) will be in action this Saturday night against contender Samuel Vargas 25-2-1, 13 KOs) in their fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Spike from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Vargas is not a great choice for an opponent for Garcia.

It looks bad that Garcia’s management selected Vargas as his opponent, because he was knocked out just last year in four rounds by Errol Spence in April 2015. There’s no gain on Garcia’s part to fight someone that was knocked out so quickly by Spence.

Keith Thurman beats Danny Garcia says Abel Sanchez

Keith Thurman

By Dan Ambrose: Trainer Abel Sanchez says he has no problems with WBC welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs) taking a tune-up fight to get him ready for a fight against WBA World welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) in early 2017. Sanchez notes that Garcia’s management don’t fight him enough to keep him sharp, and they match him against too many poor opponents.

Sanchez feels that it’s not possible for Garcia to beat the better fighters due to him fighting so infrequently, and against bad opposition. For this reason, Sanchez feels that Garcia will lose to Thurman next year when the two of them face each other in the first quarter of 2017.

The Swift Business Side of Boxing

garcia73

By Earl E: Lots of criticism has been thrown at Danny “The Swift” Garcia (32-0, 18 Kos) in his fight with not known contender Samuel Vargas (25-2-1, 13 Kos), because many boxing fans demand boxers should always engage in tough competitive fights in and every match.

As a boxing fan, I accept this idea, but as an individual that is pro-labor I disagree. If the boxer was to engage in a hard fight for every match, then how long will his career last? More importantly, how will his health be after retirement?
