By Jim Dower: Undefeated Danny Garcia (23-0, 14 KO’s) had too much youth, speed and power on Saturday night for 35-year-old former four division world champion Erik Morales (52-8, 36 KO’s) in defeating him by a 12 round unanimous decision to capture the World Boxing Council (WBC) light welterweight title at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas. The final judges’ scores were 118-109, 116-112, 117-110.

As such, the 35-year-old Morales lost his WBC light welterweight title on the scales.
