By David Ishola: Judging by his most recent comments after beating Miguel Cotto to add the WBA Light Middleweight World title to his collection it appears that Floyd Mayweather is “80/20 in favour of retiring” after admitting the potential fights out there are “very limited” which is on the back of his comments about the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight being a non starter due to Bob Arum.
Mayweather vs. Cotto
Cotto: I completely disagree with the judges
By Dan Ambrose: It seems that former WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30 KO’s) isn’t pleased with the scoring for his 12 round unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) last Saturday night. I don’t see what the problem is. The judges scored it 117-111, 117-111, and 118-110.

McKenna (McJack): In a fight that was far more competitive than many boxing observers, including this writer, expected new WBA light middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) won a hard fought battle against former champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30 KO’s) Saturday night at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
Cotto leaves ring without giving post-fight interview
By Dan Ambrose: Former WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30 KO’s) immediately dashed out of the ring last night moments after the scorecards were announced giving Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) a 12 round unanimous decision victory in their duel at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in front of 20,000 fans. There was no interview given to HBO or anything from Cotto. I hope Cotto’s not being a poor sport.
Mayweather: Bob Arum is stopping the Pacquiao fight
By Chris Williams: Newly crowned WBA Super World junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) put in a masterful performance on Saturday in defeating 31-year-old Miguel Cotto by a 12 round unanimous decision at them MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The final judges scores were 117-111, 117-111, 118-110.
Where does Mayweather go next if the Pacquiao fight is a non starter
By David Ishola: Last night after successfully beating Miguel Cotto and furthering his claim as the best fighter of a generation Floyd Mayweather effectively ruled out a fight with Manny Pacquiao and saying that it is down to Bob Arum not wanting to do the fight which begs the question, where does Floyd Mayweather go next if Mayweather/Pacquiao isn’t a viable next option for either man.
