(Photo credit: Naoki Fakuda) By Samuel Roy Junior: In all honesty, I really don’t buy the fact that Robert Guerrero thinks Floyd Mayweather Jr wants there to be a rematch clause included in the contract for their upcoming bout this Saturday night at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. It’s as if he’s trying to convince himself. That’s right, its that simple.

Don’t get me wrong, Guerrero’s resume is nothing to be sniffed at, he’s a very accomplished boxer who’s worked his way to get to this point right. But lets look at the facts; Mayweather has, in somewhat most of the eyes of boxing enthusiasts and fans across the world, DOMINATED the sport for 17 years. He’s been considered and mentioned in the rankings of the top pound for pound fighters on the planet since the late 90’s.

By Dan Ambrose: Ruben Guerrero, the father for WBC interim welterweight champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s), completely took over the final press conference and trash talked a very calm Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) for what seemed like forever earlier today.

Even when Oscar De La Hoya was trying to move in to cut off Ruben’s long rant, he continued to try and goad Mayweather into an argument. It didn’t work because Mayweather stood there impassively, not moved by Ruben’s trash talking.

By Dan Ambrose: Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) isn’t too impressed with the talent of his opponent Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s), but he does see him as a good grappler, someone that can get in there and wrestle and rough you up.

However, Mayweather doesn’t see Guerrero as a high quality fighter judging by how he struggled to beat Michael Katsidis, Joel Casamayor and Selcuk Aydin.

Mayweather said to RingTV “I seen him when he fought Andre Berto, and he done what he had to do. He was a good grappler…Casamayor going the distance with him at 40…or the fact that he had a dogfight with Katsidis.”

(Photo credit: Esther Lin/Showtime) By Dan Ambrose: Former WBO light welterweight champion DeMarcus Corley doesn’t understand why Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) is wasting his time fighting Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) instead of someone more talented.

Corley just sees Guerrero as a dirty fighter that will try and rough Mayweather up to get a win like he did against Andre Berto last November.

Guerrero, a southpaw, thinks Mayweather has problems against southpaw fighters due to his struggles against Corley and a prime Zab Judah in the past. However, Corley doesn’t agree with Guerrero at all, and he doesn’t see Guerrero as having the skills to give Mayweather problems.

Speaking with RingTV, Corley said “Guerrero has no similarities to me and Zab…he don’t have no skill. All he has is winning any way he can, dirty punches, rabbit punches. He’s just a dirty tactics fighter…I don’t see why Floyd is fighting him.”

Guerrero believes in his mind that he’s been picked out for his talent, and not because he’s considered a slapper without power at 147.

Guerrero said on Tuesday: “For one, I’m not one of Mayweather’s hand-picked opponents. We’re not making an attempt. We’re going to come out victorious on Saturday night. We Latinos have pressure all the time. We have pressure when we fight all the time. We’re going to come out and take care of business. All you’re going to hear is ‘May Day, May Day, Guerrero’s in the ring.’ That’s it.”

(Photo credit: Esther Lin/Showtime) By Dan Ambrose: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) has himself in a trance-like state where he can’t even begin to entertain the thought of him getting beaten and clowned by Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guerrero sees the win as a sure thing and not only that. He sees Mayweather giving him a nice payday rematch after he loses. It sounds like a pipedream on Guerrero’s part, but if it makes him feel better before he faces his beating on May 4th then so much the better.

By Dan Ambrose: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) has been repeatedly saying that he’ll adapt to whatever Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) brings to the ring this Saturday night in their Showtime PPV bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guerrero is convinced that he can adapt to anything and everything that the 36-year-old Mayweather does on Saturday to neutralize whatever strategy that he tries. I would agree with Guerrero that he could possibly accomplish this, but the problem he has in this fight involves a mismatch in hand speed, a big mismatch.

By Allan Fox: For some reason boxing fans haven’t scooped up the tickets for this Saturday’s fight between WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KO’s) and Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KO’s) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fight still isn’t sold out for the 16,800 seat MGM Grand, and that makes you wonder if Mayweather is losing his ticket selling magic. It obviously doesn’t help Mayweather one bit that he selected an opponent in Guerrero who doesn’t have a big fan base.
